What Farm to Table Means to Us

Local meat farms can bring food from our farm to your table. This means, at its most surface value, that we have the pleasure of bringing food directly to you without needing a third-party distributor like a grocery store. As a result, our pasture-raised meat can be trusted to create delicious, nutritious meals for your family or restaurant.

Supporting Local Restaurants

Restaurants that purchase from a local meat farm are usually dedicated to quality assurance. They know that the transparency of purchasing from a local supplier of pasture-raised meat is irreplaceable. We have the pleasure of building solid relationships with local restaurants. This is especially true for restaurants that have specialty dishes, and require meat like our incredible selection of ostriches.

A Home-Cook’s Best Friend

We love our home cooks. These passionate people just want to bring high-quality meals to their families, and that’s admirable. Our relationships with them are built upon trust, and ultimately letting them cook food that soothes their soul. At Briardale Ostrich Farm, we have a particular advantage in the way that we offer unique meat products. You can’t get fresh ostrich meat  just anywhere!

Urban Farms

City-dwellers can enjoy farm-to-table food, too! Contrary to popular belief, urban farms can still qualify as farm-to-table. Several restaurants in urban cities have gotten in on it. They have begun growing their own urban farms, which is an incredible feat for city dining. The biggest signifier for farm-to-table food is that you’re getting it directly from the source — no third party necessary.

Avoiding Misunderstandings

Since it’s so great to buy farm-to-table, the term itself has, unfortunately, grown to be misused over time. If you see packaged meat at a grocery store that says “farm-to-table,” they’re lying to you. Of course, that meat was likely raised on a farm. But, you are seeing the meat through a third-part source (the grocery store). So, they cannot possibly be farm-to-table!

Of course, the freshest food that you can get will be farm-to-table. Naturally, as a result, big corporations have tried to get in on it by using the term in their marketing. Briardale  never wants our consumers to be misled. Our goal is to ensure that you will always have somewhere to buy humanely raised meat. If you’d like to make the switch to farm-to-table food, order our products today!
